Yes this is what my vanguard guy told me they don't sell all those dogs they hold in thier funds, and I asked but wait - if the stock drops and you lose all your gains - what have you accomplished - he assured me they had very complex quants that would trigger the sale before all the gains were wiped out but hold while it was still tax advantaged. Over at the darkforce short thread we are all looking at shorting XLF.
