Marcos, what do fat and age have to do with it? And A Turk or American or Kiwi - they are all just human beings, not some weird sub-human species. I'm not aware of any laws that say Turks aren't allowed to own things. Even if they are fat and even if they are old. Are you sure they were fat and old? What if the land wasn't owned by a Turk would it have made a difference?

So what if the tenant is a human being? That's the nature of all human beings - they are ipso facto human.

A similar issue is the tenancy of a lot of Fijian land by Indian Fijians whose ancestors arrived over a century ago during British Empire days. The Indians had usufruct over the land. But a few years ago, the leases expired and the Fijians got the land back. They didn't want the Indians to stay on it. The human being Indians had to leave, although they'd lived on the land for generations. It wasn't their property.

Similarly, Hong Kong was leased to Britain. When the lease was up, it was not for Britain to say they were so accustomed to usufruct that they had decided to keep the land. It of course reverted to China's possession [the definition of "China's" being a moot point].
