I am very qualified to speak about Christianity.
I had a strong Christian upbringing. I know the Bible well and have read most of it. We have several top ministers in our family, I mean world class. So don't tell me I can't speak about the hypocrisy of the rightwing politicized churches.
As Jim Bakker confessed after he was arrested, the evangelicals like him preach the opposite of what christ taught. Christ was not about greed, money, prosperity, Republicanism, wars, hating, attacking, polluting. Christ was about loving your enemies as yourself, peace-making, turning the other cheek and telling the rich to give ALL their wealth away to the poor. All of it.
None of us are perfect christians, but the worst types are the self-righteous who hijack the Lord's name for extremist political causes and practice the opposite of what christ taught. I fully remember the rightwing talkshows for instance as the Iraq War started, who called peace-marchers "evil". How can a peace-marcher ever be evil? And how can someone as corrupt, divisive and greedy as Delay ever be called a leader of Christians?
