Yep... less pork and subsidies then last year's version (I guess that's progress, albeit modest), and the electric grid changes *are* fairly important and long over-due.

As to the rest... no big deal, nothing particularly important of useful (IMO), a fair amount of *unhelpful* special interest legislation and corporate welfare, and rather uninspired national industrial policy, and yes... I have no problem with drilling in the Reserve.

It's worth noting that the Energy Department estimates that the bills provisions will occasion a three cents per gallon rise in the average national cost of gasoline....
