Yes, you are right. We retail little people aren't able to scam the markets with naked shorting. Hedge funds, now estimated to be responsible for over 1/2 US equity trades, have that virtually for themselves and, of course, MM's under the guise of maintaining an "orderly market."

And you are right that you probably aren't going to have to worry about a buy-in if you stick with fairly non-controversial stocks to short. Once the crowd gets in, shares get scarce and all kinds of games take place.

For those who are long on microcaps, the naked shorting issue is more of an issue. Personally, I believe that manipulation is rampant, and that one of the tools is to use TA strategies to manipulate. That's why you often see "paint the tape" at the end of days. When you look at the chart a week later, you don't really know that it was a "paint job." Works best with thin floaters. So really off - topic here so I won't bother you more with the subject.

You guys do such a great job. Learn lots by reading your posts.
