XM Radio Receives On-Orbit Delivery of Third Boeing-Built Satellite

/noticias.info/ ST. LOUIS, April 20, 2005 -- Boeing [NYSE:BA] announced the successful on-orbit handover of the XM-3 satellite to XM Satellite Radio Inc., today.

"XM-3 is one of the most powerful satellites ever built," said Dave Ryan, president of Boeing Satellite Systems International, Inc. "Boeing's technology will enable XM-3 to transmit more than 150 channels of digital-quality music, news, sports, talk, comedy and children's programming to subscribers nationwide."

Alcatel Space of Toulouse, France, provided the S-band Digital Audio Radio Service payload for XM-3.
