Saying "I saw her speak recently" is certainly in common usage when you are saying that you attended someone's speech. While it is perfectly acceptable to disagree about ideas or positions at Feelies, I really strongly discourage people making fun of the way others write sentences. I think it is kind of arrogant and condescending, and I would like everyone to feel comfortable writing posts here when they are in a hurry or whatever. People also have differing levels of command of the English language, and I don't think how you say something is as important as the fact that you're here expressing yourself.

So if you honestly don't understand what someone has said, you can ask for a clarification, but making fun of the way someone said something seems kind of uncivil to me.
