Wool is best for life in the woods. I've never heard of this practice of mulesing, but it looks barbaric in the photo. I've never seen it done in the US. If it is common practice, it should be abandoned forthwith in favor of humane alternatives. We can't get away from using animal products. Virtually every substance that we use in everyday life contains at least some animal product or depends on animal products for its manufacture. One reason why hunting wild game is superior to eating farm bred meat is that wild animals are free of growth hormones and antibiotics.
