Re: You are arguing that Peak Oil is real and then you tell that the high prices are due to speculators and will fall in 2006?

As J.P. Morgan famously said, "markets will fluctuate".

The physical supply of crude oil and its price are not the same thing. Calling my observations of history to be a "conspiracy theory" does little to increase my estimation of your logical abilities. Rather than calling the situation a conspiracy, I prefer to understand it in terms of the dynamics of the interaction of market fundamentals, disinformation and basic greed.

Re: People talk about possible shock at the gas stations if there is a supply disruption or oil hoarding around the world. This is the situation when strategic reserves should be used,

If you'll review the enabling legislation for the SPR, you'll find that it has more to do with military preparedness and less to do with accomodating of Joe and Jenny Six Pack's trip to the mall.
