Scott,
Is it possible that Power Tools has also reached an agreement with Apple? Mac OS Rumors thinks so: macosrumors.com.
"Rumors" also suspects something big is afoot in Cupertino:
"For better or for worse, Jobs is following some kind of master plan that -- apparently, noting UMAX as an example -- does seem to continue to include some clones, but not others. Why he would choose to deceive the public. . . isn't clear, but there is little doubt that, one way or another, Jobs is getting ready to drop a new bomb. Licensing does not seem to be a self-contained issue for Jobs; information slowly reaching Rumors suggests that it is part of a larger strategy."
Changing subjects slightly, I'm not sure whjat to make of the MOT PPC chip rumors. It's curious that they show up, anonymously, on two web sites that have been relentlessly hostile to Apple's tightening the screws on the clones. Regardless, it's unlikely that Apple would abandon the more efficient RISC chips for some Intel product. Curioser and curioser.
