They often can succeed in changing the subject by personally attacking those who oppose their agenda. This is so successful that Bill Clinton, who has committed felonies, has a higher approval rating than Kenneth Starr, who has uncovered the felonies.
Note that there is not a single commentary on the issue - polls. All the e-mail contains is a series of personal attacks, profanity and ridicule. The writer's objective is to make me angry or to hurt my feelings and get me to spend my time defending myself. And, the objective works on most people. It doesn't on me because I worked around liberals long enough to know that this tactic has been taught to them for decades by people like Saul Alinsky who actually charged rather large fees to teach people how to "rub raw the sores of discontent" back in the 1960s.".....

A Response to Our Poll about Clinton and Gore from A Liberal

In my Monday column I asked a question about the most recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll which announced that 76% of the people polled, and, in their belief system, therefore 76% of all Americans, believe that Bill Clinton is dishonest, immoral and untrustworthy. However, 69% of those same American believe he is going a "good job" as President.
The same poll reported that only 23% of those polled believe that Al Gore is dishonest, immoral and untrustworthy and a lower percentage, 68%, believe he is doing a good job. The statistics seem to indicate that being viewed as dishonest, immoral and untrustworthy helps Clinton have a higher approval rating.
And, so, I asked in my own poll: Why? "If you approve of the job Bill Clinton is doing, and you voted for him, and are among the 76% who believe he is dishonest, immoral and untrustworthy, why do you believe he is preferable to an honest, moral, trustworthy Democrat (Al Gore) as President?
I had a huge number of responses, some of which I published, but only one person answered who appears to be in that reported 76% who approve of Bill Clinton, voted for him and, presumably is well enough informed to know he is dishonest, immoral and untrustworthy. In fact, he sent me two e-mails yesterday and they are such great examples of the Democrats well organized Agenda of Disruption that I think they need to be used as props for a needed information piece.
I've been active in politics for fifty years and at least for the last 35 years I have been well aware of the effectiveness of the left-wing's Agenda of Disruption. It was first used in modern times with extraordinary success during the 1960s when riots and civil disobedience changed the nation's agenda.
This time, it appears, the left is too weak to organize the kind of disruptions that occurred in the 1960s, but they do have enough people in their action cadres to confuse the Conservatives and verbally terrorize those who want to preserve American's constitutional liberties.

The tactic unnerves many conservatives and, because conservatives have the bad habit of attacking each other, it frequently blocks implementation of conservative goals. The two e-mail mails I received are perfect examples of the Agenda of Disruption. Remember that the column was about polls and their accuracy. Here's liberal Fred's message:
"Looks like your own extreme right wing blathering is finally catching up on you.
"Say Mary, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?:
"1. If you approve of the job Bill Clinton is doing, and you voted for him, and are among the 76% who believe he is dishonest, immoral and untrustworthy, why you believe he is preferable to a honest, moral trustworthy Democrat (Al Gore) as President?"
"Dr. Fred says:
"Mary get a clue, IT IS OVER!! Your side has lost it BIG time. Too bad that you people have so polarized the American populace that some will actually believe that there is a winner in all of this. Happy now Mary? Funny,huh?
"Take a vacation, try Jamacia, I hear that it is pretty nice there this time of year. Catch a few rays Mary, but be careful to not over expose.
"Say there Mary, isn't there always supposed to be a #2 when there is a #1? Just my opinion, I could be wrong though I doubt it.
"And BTW Mary, do I see that we have finally discovered a POLL with which we agree? My oh my I do believe that the world she just might stop a-spinning! Or is it just another cheap trick to further justify your special view of the world? Which is it Mary?
"Have fun Mary and remember, enjoy but not too much sun.
"Wonderful.
"P.S. Take Mikey with you. We could all use a little break from him, if you know what I mean."

So, I wrote back to Fred: "Keep dreaming! You'd really like anyone who disagrees with you to simply disappear, wouldn't you?"
Fred didn't like that too much. In fact, apparently he lost a little bit of his composure because in his second e-mail he reveals some of his tactics, as well as reluctantly admitting that my columns are effective: "Well then Mary, if THAT is the way that you are going to show your appreciation for my genuine concern for your emotional health, well then Mary, DO NOT take a vacation, ok? Sheese Mary have it your way then, just stay right where you are doing what you do best, that being ranting, whining and complaining. I must admit Mary you are very, very, very good at it.
"Now Mary, getting back to the point. "Simply disappear"? Actually Mary nothing could be further from the truth. You see Mary, for the past couple of years I have been actively monitoring people like you, Mike Reagan, Joe Farah, Geoff Metcalf, Gary Bauer, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Ann Coulter and the rest of the motley crew of right wing holier than thou hysterical sensationalist hypocrites who have this inflated view of themselves that they are some sort of neo-American revolutionary patriot, christian soldier cadre ordained by God himself to spew forth their message of hatred, separation and what can only be called neo-Nazi supremacy.
"Not to be too boastful Mary, but during this time period I feel that I, as one little man, have been very successful at causing you people to in fact 'not disappear' but to encourage you to shout your beliefs from the rooftops, from every public media outlet possible, from every street corner. For as you would likely agree Mary, it is only through exposure to the bright light of day can the corruptness of your agenda be defeated. No Mary I have no dilusions regarding you or any of your pals actually 'disappearing' and as a matter of fact Mary my main concern is that you will merely go underground as it were. It is there that I fear that you can really do serious damage.
"Therefore Mary, DO NOT DO IT!!!"
The "bright light of day" on "corruptness," you will note, is aimed at religion and patriotism. Christianity is equated with "hatred, separation and neo-Nazi supremacy." Why? Because Christians oppose immorality, dishonesty and untrustworthiness in the President? That's exactly why.
The Apostle Paul described the apostasy and "perilous times" of the latter-days before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in 2 Timothy 3: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (meaning without self-control), fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady (meaning reckless), highminded (meaning conceited), lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God."
In two short e-mails, Fred demonstrated quite a number of those - boasting, proud, lover of himself, obviously a despiser of those that are good, conceited., false accuser. "Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse," Paul went on to say,, "deceiving and being deceived." We sure have a lot of deceiving and being deceived going on.
Does that mean we should just give up and let the little buggers like Fred have their way and wait for the world to come to an end? I don't think so. In fact, I think it is high time that conservatives get their act together and stop being so manipulated by the Freds of this world. Conservatives seem to be constantly caught off guard by the viciousness of the attacks they are getting and spend an undue amount of time complaining about their elected representatives not doing enough.
Maybe it's because I haven't been a Christian all my life, but it never ceases to amaze me that those who believe in, and say they read, the Bible are the ones who are the most astonished when people are treating them as the Apostle Paul described. There really are people out there who call evil good and call good evil.
Our elected representatives, good men like Rep. Henry Hyde for example, are being viciously attacked for standing up for principle. Why did Henry Hyde say that "some things are worth losing my job over?" He is in the eye of the storm and the attacks on him by those pushing the Agenda of Disruption are unrelenting. Those attacks have been enough to reduce HIS approval rating in his district. Those on the front line of this war need MORE support not less from fellow conservatives.
As more and more people read my column, I'll get more e-mail and more threats from people like Fred. But, I've been threatened by experts, and Fred is no expert. He's transparent. He has inadvertently revealed the agenda of the left - which we have seen acted out professionally by Clinton's attacks on Kenneth Starr, the Republican House Managers of Impeachment, Newt Gingrich, Bob Livingston, etc.
The tactics only work when the public is unaware of them. An unaware public will help the attackers by criticizing their own side - which is what is going on in a major way right now. On CNN and MSNBC there is an around-the-clock effort taking place to justify and rationalize Clinton's disgusting behavior and his felonies. In show after show conservatives are set up and encouraged to fight among themselves - and most of them don't know how to handle it. Conservatives still think they can change the other side through facts, logic and reason. They can't. While the Conservatives are being reasonable, the Liberals are being deceptive. And, the liberals have been at this for decades. They are well organized, have an agenda and, though actually a small group, they network with one another in a way Conservatives simply don't know how to do. People like Fred are disrupting chatrooms, on-line forums and try their best to disrupt talk shows all over America. Disruption is part and parcel of the New Left.
Many liberal sites have well organized campaigns going on to "Stop the Impeachment!" (See Americans for Democratic Action (ADA-http://adaction.org/), The National Organization for Women (NOW-http://www.now.org/actions/impeachment-senators.html), The AFL-CIO (http://www.aflcio.org/publ/impeach.htm), People for the American Way (http://www.pfaw.org/) As usual, the left-wing is organized and pushing their agenda and busily undermining the conservatives by cleverly helping them attack one another.
People are being deceived. The polls have been unrelenting - and what do they tell you? They tell you that you are a small minority that does not represent the "people of America." Yet, there is no way that normal, average, law-abiding citizens would, on their own, accept the behavior of Bill Clinton as acceptable from any perspective. It's even less likely that normal people would excuse criminal behavior, felonies, based on their own logic, feelings or moral code. This has come about because someone had a plan -and they worked the plan. And, I think the plan was hatched in the White House. It has resulted in a paralysis of confusion.
What can the average person do? Actually, because there are so many average people, if they were activated and were as dedicated as the left-wingers, they could turn things around rather quickly. Start by writing letters to your members of Congress.(http://originalsources.com/PLobby/ContactCongress.shtml) and to the media (http://originalsources.com/PLobby/ContactMedia.shtml). And, urge everyone you know to write letters. Bill Clinton was impeached because there was a huge outpouring of letters to members of the House of Representatives while the media was announcing that there was "no way" Clinton would be impeached.
I see copies of thousands of e-mails going to members of Congress and I read in most of them statements which tell me that the majority in this country thinks it is actually a small minority. You are not a minority. It's FRED and those like him who are the minority. If Fred represents the majority, how come last November the voters elected a Republican congress, even though half the voters were so disheartened they didn't vote? The Republicans in Congress have been manipulated into acting like they are a minority. Maybe it's about time that those who want to defend the Constitution and the moral principles on which it is based do their own organizing into local action groups.
Certainly in the last 35 years we have seen small minorities who come out to protest a war, or stop a development from being built, or complain about something - even if it is the serving of peanuts on airlines - get their way. Perhaps it's time the majority organize and stop the erosion of our freedom, the destruction of our families and the attacks on our God. |
