The borders were established in 1967

The borders that were established in 1967 were: Israel controlled the Sinai, the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights, plus all of pre-1967 Israel. That's what was established in 1967. Is that what you are talking about?

In 1967 Syria, Egypt and Jordan - not one of whom recognized Israel as a state inside the pre-1967 borders, started a war with the expressly stated purpose of wiping Israel off the map. Levi Eshkhol begged King Hussein to stay out of it, but Hussein listened to Nasser (who failed to mention that the Israelis had wiped out the Egyptian Air Force on Day 1. We have this on tape, since the Israelis managed to bug the call) and invaded Israel anyway. In a brief burst of fighting, the Jordanian positions collapsed and Israeli troops took over the West Bank.

It was after this that the pre-1967 borders, which they had never recognized! - suddenly became sacred to the Arab states. The first mentions of "Palestine", which had not occurred to anybody when Jordan held the West Bank and Egypt held Gaza, came shortly thereafter.

Once again, the Arabs started a war of conquest, then bleated how unfair it was that they lost. Usually the loser sues for peace but everybody decided that in Israel's case, the victor must do it.

This Arab state of Palestine, btw, has never existed at any point of history. The Arabs never considered Palestine a separate country.
