Yes, that would be also quite obvious, and if one just stop to ponder a layer deeper, that alliance is in fact "just is" however folks may feel about it -
China makes, US buys;
China finances, US borrows;
US invests, China builds;
China expands use of energy, US keeps it all flowing;
US will be able to keep less and less of peace, China will be able to guard more and more of the same;
...
It is simply that simpletons on both continents do not see the apparent, realize not the obvious, and instead live in a fantasy world believing a winner can be in any conflict.
Calling these simpletons morons would be too generous, and too much a waste of time.
