Conservatives are conservative. In name and deed. Conservatives are not Liberals. We are free to chose between the them, but in my opinion, we ought not to fall for the trap that Conservatives are conservative in fiscal matters only. Liberals are pushing that line!

Do we throw out the crooks in power now and elect a new bunch?

I have always liked the idea of throwing the bums out before they get too entrenched and get ideas like they are the "natural governing party". If the people don't punish the government for wrong doing, what incentive is there in the future?

But Claude has thrown a big consideration into this debate, namely Quebec separation. My personal wish is for the country to stay together, but I equally desire a change in government.

It would be interesting to learn about the Canadian Conservatives proclivity for military adventure which you mention. Was that under Diefenbaker, or Joe Clark, or Brian Mulroney?
