<My personal wish is for the country to stay together, but I equally desire a change in government. >

Same here.

I think that there is only one way for this to happen and it is for whatever government takes the next federal round, to solve the fiscal desiquilibrium by a massive transfer to the provinces especially Quebec.

This is not my way of thinking because I prefer small governments and smaller expenses (and for that I applaud what Martin has done when he was financial minister), but Quebecquers are not ready for that (will they ever?). Most of Quebec is way too much socialist and will go against any politicians in Ottawa that forced them to relinquish their social programs through spending cuts.

The provincial liberals have had an horrible first two years and have lost a lot of ground here. So that leaves the PQ and the Bloc. Add Harper in Ottawa and you get a perfect reciepe for a "Yes" at the next referendum.
The billions cuts in transfer programs has forced Quebec to become leaner and meaner at the expenses of the social programs and the provincial debt. That is why most Quebecquers are angry.
