Historical records had improved dramatically by then...... Not better than during the Roman Empire! Are you kidding? We're talking six hundred years after the Roman Empire's peak........an equivalent period would be from the 14th century to the 21st century. Maybe I'm wrong but I assumed that record keeping improved during that 600 year period. In addition, there is ample, written evidence that the Caliphs descended from Mohammad did, in fact, exist. I think that confirms that Mohammad was real. >in fact, man was on the verge of mass producing books....I think that was in 800 BCE/AD. Wasn't that in the 14th century (Gutenberg)? I think the first books were created in China in 800 CE after they invented paper. Shortly thereafter, the Islamic empire expanded to SE Asia. Books were brought back to Baghdad, then the center of Islam. The Muslims began to mass produce books. In 14xx, the invention of the Gutenberg press made book production even faster. ted
