Goebbels knew to tell big lies, repeat them a lot, keep competing ideas suppressed, and hey presto, reality forms in the mindless mob's mind. They grab their lynch ropes and branding irons and attack.
Hu Jintao and swarms of others are busily demonizing Japanese now [not to mention Taiwanese]. For example swarms of people are foaming at the mouth because they mistakenly think that Japan hasn't apologized for WWII and earlier atrocities in China etc. Personally, I think Japan could reasonably tell them to get lost. Almost none of the Japanese alive now had anything whatsoever to do with what went on.
My uncle, who for 60 years would have nothing to do with Japan because of their cruelty during WWII died a couple of years ago [aged 93]. Now, our son is living and working in Japan, and our exchange "son", Aki, doesn't seem to me to have any responsibility for what went on half a century before he was born.
It's like Mexican immigrants paying taxes to compensate Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell for [I assume] their slave ancestors' sufferings. I don't think Arnie [Austrian] needs to apologize to Mexico for taking California, or to negroes who might or might not have had slave ancestors, who might or might not have suffered in any particular way.
It's a big lie that Japan hasn't apologized and should go on again and again apologizing for the horrors perpetrated by some of their ancestors. It's a big lie that Jews drink gentile blood. But plenty of people are gullible and will swallow the big lie hook, line and sinker.
