The Japanese government has apologized but the Japanese people have never been made fully aware of the total history or so i have been led to believe. Someone once wrote--cant remember the person or publication that Japanese WW2 history teaching internally, starts and stops with the atom bomb droppings on H and N.
You are 100% right that today's japanese youth had nothing to do with the atrociites. Also, the Chinese rulers are playing off new nationalism in china which buy the way may end up one day biting their ass. In the NYTimes today there was an article saying that the chinese had banned text messages calling for political action. They are obviously afraid that these excited xenophobic chinese may one day turn on them. You would think they would then want to tone down the anti-japanese, populist sentiment. It seemss that the recent meeting move toward that. Mike
