I hunt because:

16. I love dreaming of hunts yet to be.
17. I love being out there depending only on myself. for the moment.
18. I love having no other depending on me, for the moment.
19. I love my rifle, the beauty of it, the heft of it, the skill that went into the making of it, the times I have cradled it in my arms, the times I have cleaned it, the times I have opened my gun case just to look at it, that it depends on me to keep its honor clean.
20. I love pouring my coffee out of a thermos while eating a sandwich in front of a cheery warming fire, sitting on the snow in my woolen Malone pants and feeling quite warm and content.
