The point is, if I were Chinese, living in China, and I happened to meet Yiwu or for that matter any other Chinese person who is not my many years friend, I would certainly cheer for the official line, to protect my family. So there's no way Yiwu or any other stranger could find out my real thoughts. Hence she encounters unanimity and truthfully reports it.
