In fact, the US caused the Japanese component of WWII by blockading Japan. Japan had been happily building an East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere before the rude intrusion by the gaijin. It had been going swimmingly for a couple of decades, having seen off the British from the area and having taken over quite a lot. Sure, they had to suppress the slightest opposition but that's the nature of empire building - the USA took over the Philippines and that wasn't a gentle process. China won't be able to take over Taiwan without a lot of killing if they show up on the shores with a load of military equipment. Mqurice
