Shades, From the UST conference call, if I understand the CEO correctly, he cites high gasoline prices as a reason for the fall off in sales of his premium chew and snuff. Guess what he means is that J6P reached for the cheaper chew after shelling out for the expensive gas. Lots of the snuff and chew customers are these very same guys who are the tradesmen building the McMansions as that sort of work is one of the very few work environments where unrestricted spitting is allowed. I thought those guys were making the big bucks. So its come to that already? I guess soup lines are next. Slagle
