Aside from its broad cross section of commodities, (including very large oil sands deposits), Canada also has very large amounts of fresh water (which I think becomes important to our kids, especially as I watch developments in the US, west of the Mississippi).

The Canuck Looney will also benefit from Canada's more conservative attitude towards consumer debt (consumers up here haven't taken on near the debt loads that are common in the US) and Canadian government efforts to reduce deficits (which have been modestly successful on a comparative basis).

Canada's economy is also much more diverse than what many think. (take a look at high tech and medical tech up here and you begin to get an idea).

I think the Looney makes "parity" over the next two or three years,... maybe even higher.

Best, Earlie
