Maurice,
Since we both seem to be open minded I would like to re-read the two messages from Bill Frezza and Ira Brodsky and point out a few things.

1. Ira says , "Response to a message from Bill Frezza , who claims he is unable to post here (isn't that a fraudulent claim ?) Anyone can post here.

I see nowhere in Bills message stating he couldn't post here so were did that come from?

2. Bill said " Voice Quality on the Qualcomm QCP800 operating at 13 kbps is , in truth quite good.

Ira says " You have not mentioned CDMA's outstanding noise canceling technology.

I think just the fact Bill said it was quite good was enough without having to be technical and tell why it is so good. Good is Good. I myself would like to respond to Ira's "outstanding noise canceling technology " There are some that are concerned about this technology and it was pointed out to me from a CDMA installer that if a person was making a 911 call the officer answering the call would hear nothing in the background and he didn't know how the public would react to that. It was important enough for him to bring it up at a meeting.

3. Bill says nobody, nowhere is getting 10x-20x amps.

Ira says everyone in the CDMA camp now claims they will achieve at least 15x analog.

I think Bills statement is positive stating nobody, nowhere. Ira didn't refute that saying yes they are getting 10x to 20x amps , he said " The CDMA camp now ***claims *** ( claims is not fact until its proven ) they ***will*** ( will means they haven't done it yet ) achieve 15x analog.

4. Ira says "The capacity realized in a CDMA system varies by location. AirTouch is achieving 10x analog in many locations; 6x is the minimum. "

I was wondering since Mr. Cox the CEO of Airtouch stated on the conference call that they have 4 base stations and 200 phones in LA , where are these many locations that he is referring to ? Could he name a few of these many sites and let us know how large these systems are or are they just test sites.

5. Ira says 15 percent of Airtouch's traffic is more than APC's entire traffic in Washington DC.
Bill' s statement was quite clear when he said Airtouch is trying to migrate 15 % of there traffic to digital. Ira sure likes to play with the numbers. Yes Airtouch's system ( it is mostly analog ) is larger than APC's but aren't we talking digital ? There are 200 digital subscribers in LA as Mr. Cox stated so lets find out how many are in Washington. I think that's a fair comparison don't you?

6. A few months ago Bill stated CDMA had no advantages . Was that not the truth then ? Now Bill states the battery is quite good and gives 5 hours to a user. Ira seems to want to use this as a whipping post for Bill even though he admits it's a good battery. Bill also points out this is an advantage for a heavy user. I myself have 2 batteries as most heavy users do.

7. Bill said CDMA is a failure at 800 MHz and Ira didn't touch that.
Bill said call failure rates are to high and Ira didn't touch that.
Bill said dropped calls remain a problem and Ira didn't touch that.
Bill said the digital to analog hand off isn't working right and Ira didn't touch that.
Bill said Airtouch isn't even trying to make the hand off work in San Diego Ira missed that too.

8. Finally Bill states the only reason Bell Atlantic is up and running is because they upgraded each and every AMPS cell site. Wasn't one of the advantages of CDMA is the need for less cell sites?
Also worthy of note is the fact that US West has gone invisible in Seattle. Why ?

Bill include his e-mail address as well as his telephone .
How can we contact Ira ?

Jim
