RUBBER CRUMB PRODUCTS FROM RECYCLED USED TIRES IN MALAYSIA

A Malaysian company (ESSB) has become the first in Malaysia to produce high quality rubber crumb from used auto tires using the latest technology cryogenic system which produces temperatures of minus 177 degrees Fahrenheit without the use of nitrogen. This product has many applications such as, Construction industry, New Tires, Road Surfaces, Playground surfaces, The Plastics Industry etc etc.

ESSB President Nor Azman Muda has been researching the project for some five years and has acquired the leading edge technology from international company TIREX CORPORATION of Canada. Tirex has developed this system known as TCS 2 as a process which produces nil pollution in any form and is unique in the industry worldwide.

Their is a healthy ready market with orders for regular supplies over at least three years.

The project will create industry in Terengganu, employment for Malaysians and a flourishing export market.

In support of this the Terengganu State Government through its subsidiary U.P.E.N.is extending every support to this project in the interests of further developing the country. The site is at TeLuk Kalong in Kemaman District.

The project is funded by a local bank to the tune of RM 150 million and production is scheduled to begin in June 2006.

The Tirex Corporation has given a guarantee of technical support for the manufacture of the equipment, transportation from their contracted manufacturer SIMPRO of Torino, Italy, assembly, commissioning and training of ESSB personnel in Italy and Malaysia.

It is for seen that the rubber crumb requirement from around the world will increase so the plant needs to to be functioning as soon as possible.

ESSB is confident of satisfying the market both domestically and overseas even if it means increasing production capacity which is already being planned.

The Cryogenic (M) plant as it is called, is another first for Malaysia and in fact the system being used will be the first operational one in the world..

This is seen as a great achievement for both TIREX CORPORATION and ESSB which is a 100% Bumiputera owned company.
