Social Security is an insurance program. You work, you pay in, you get back...what can be more American than that?

Getting off the grid means exactly that. Stop using the 'socialistic' trappings of this society:

money
internet
phones
roads and bridges
clean water
sewers
electricity
police and emergency services
defense
education
etc. etc.

The ultrawealthy would, then, be only as wealthy as they could defend with guns and hide in their bunker. They would not have access to paper or electronic money, banks, police to protect them, phones, roads, sidewalks, etc.

In fact, they would have to have STUFF like beef or grain because they couldn't use paper money or even gold since they are simply representations of resources and are on THE GRID. If someone boinked them on the head to take their STUFF, they couldn't call anyone for help or redress because, heck, they're off THE GRID.
