Titan profit up more than six-fold on homeland security

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - Titan Corp. Thursday reported net income of $19 million, or 22 cents a share, up more than six-fold from $3 million, or 3 cents a share, citing strong revenue growth inits homeland security, systems integration and government enterprise units. Net income from continuing operations was $18.2 million, or 21 cents a share, against $3.6 million, or 4 cents a share, a year before. The Thomson First Call analysts' consensus estimate was for earnings per share of 23 cents. The San Diego defense contractors's revenue was $558.9 million, up from $454 million a year before. The company forecast 2005 revenue of $2.38 billion to $2.45 billion with earnings per share of $1.02 to $1.11. On
