Why does the market treat VAR so badly? Am I missing something about their financials? They have good earnings, their products are selling well in the US and abroad, they have a backlog of orders, what more do investors want? For some reason their stock just keeps on sinking in spite of good earnings reports and good guidance. Maybe people worry about the "backlog", but I have heard that it is mainly due to hospitals delaying delivery until they have built new facilities or remodelled old ones so they have somewhere to put them. Part of their problem might be that too many people think they make semiconductors rather than cancer-treatment systems because of the "Varian" in their name.
