In internet terms a thread is a series of linked posts. This post is part of the thread as are any of them attached through prior or responses. A subject on a Bulletin Board is something like The Castle, or Formerly... At least, it was the definition I learned a decade or more ago when I first started posting on BBs. SI is the internet equivalent of a BB. On SI the term thread has been used instead of subject. IMHO subject is the correct term. If you have a different opinion it will not offend me. Can you believe we used to dial in on 2400 baud modems to chat on BBs? The speed got better, and graphics did too. I may have asked about it shortly after the banning happened. I have not interceded since the. The moderator is generally ok. We can all take ourselves too seriously.
