JF, Bottom line is we have to pay the bills.

What for? We've got the strongest economy in the world, so why not mortgage some of it just to prop up the politicians today? (sarcasm)

By the way, here in Kah-lee-fornia, the public employee unions are running very ugly smear ads against Ah-nuld because he wants to reform the public employee pension system. Our governor has stated time and time again that the state doesn't have a revenue problem, but an expense problem, yet the unions aren't giving up what they gained under Gray Davis without a fight.

Kind of an illustration of what happens when anyone mentions spending cuts of any kind. Of course, we could always raise taxes on the "rich." Funny how that mentality is driving Intel away from expanding anywhere in California.

Just remember, every cent that Bush spends in Iraq is on your tab... you owe that money to somebody.

Social Security and Medicare are going to cost orders of magnitude more than Iraq, with many, many more lives at stake. And yet, I remember you referring to Social Security as the only "bright spot" in our federal budget.
