That is great, LennyG. I tried Ancestry.com free trial, and built up quite a lot of data during a short period. I will probably go for the membership when I have time to spend on genealogy.

You might also try putting your surnames in a string in Teoma or Google. You might stumble on an interesting factoid about your family. For example, in so doing I found out that somebody with my father's name (and my first name) was murdered up in Juneau just after the war. I lived in Juneau for 11 years, but never heard anything about it. There is no relation that I know of, but it's possible because my surname is relatively uncommon.

One branch of my ancestors became a large family clan with a well-researched ancestry tree. If you stumble onto something like that with your surname, you've hit paydirt.
