He never said Christmas day. "Christmas of 1968" doesn't necessarily mean a specific day it can mean a season. "I visited Auntie Mae last christmas" doesn't mean I saw her on Dec, 25th, but could be any time close to the 25th, even January.

Of course this is all trivial splitting hairs. The fact is Kerry didn't lie and doesn't lie, but Bush obviously does.
In fact, Bush has a major credibility problemn and the RNC knows it. Fully 50% say he deliberately lied about WMD's in Iraq. Deliberately. Many more would say he lied without knowing he was lying. Or non-deliberately.

In this case Kerry used the word christmas for dramatization. Big deal. he does that sometimes. Who doesn't? So in 30 years of public life the guy can't use one or two words for dramatic purposes? At last he doesn't lie and he's almost always on the right side of the arguments.

Kerry's choice of words doesn't change the facts whatsoever, nor does it mar his credibility. Kerry was in Cambodia around Christmas 1968. That's a fact. So he was telling the truth, just not expressing it with specific accuracy.

The smearvets tell us Kerry was NEVER in Cambodia and lied about the whole thing. Which makes them the liars, and frankly, major league creeps and deceivers. Also, you know what all this trivial garbage really does, takes our attention off the real issues. And that's what Rove-Bush really want. They want us not to think clearly and see what's really happening. This is all a big stinky smoke screen.
