"Well those that are affronted by the French English bilingualism may have forgotten our history."

If the people in Quebec can forget our history, and can continually discount the contributions and culture of the English in Canada, why should the rest of us remember it? In areas that are almost exclusively Chinese, or Polish why on earth would we be ensuring service in French and English rather than English and Chinese and Polish? If a neighbourhood was mostly French and Innu for example, English might be the language that is redundant.

I am not against Bilingualism rather against enshrining redundant services..... Making every civil service job in Canada require the person speak French and English except in Quebec where they only need to speak French makes no sense. We should allow Quebec to set the example and meet the standards set by the government of Quebec in bilingualism in the rest of Canada.... But since the French are now a smaller minority than the Chinese in many places, we should be catering to the people who make up the country.
