Ok, I missed those two para., no big deal, it is a thick book. The matter of the fact is: he has left Tibet before 1959, so how could he ever know what was happening after he left? Yes, it is true that Dalai the political monk wrote plenty, but a lot of those are lies. Fine with me if you believe it, and most of Westerners believe it, but I DON"T.
It is the West (inherited from the Brits) tried to invade/colonize Tibet for many years, and they failed. So they just have some sour grape psyche.
The other day, I watch a new Chinese documentary, named Delamu, directed by Tian ZhuangZhuang. It is the first of a planned 10 episode series about the ChaMaGuDao, a ancient road between YunNan and Tibet used by merchants for the last 2000 some years. Most of the movie are the Tibetans talking about their own life. What really surprises me is that every one of them was talking about Christianity and Catholics. This just shows how the West tried to influence Tibet! Tibet has their own religion, that is Lama. Why the Westerners were so eager to spread out their own religion in that area??
This movie was in NYC theater, and got a very good review. So maybe you should watch it. adelaidefilmfestival.org en.ce.cn
