Ted, I'm pretty sure we'll go back-n-forth with regard to Proposition 13, but the bottom line is that California doesn't have a revenue problem. Instead, costs are spiraling out of control for various reasons, many of which we already discussed.

That is the most ridiculous comment I've heard in a long time and I know damn well its origins......from all things profound and stupid. To say CA doesn't have a revenue problem is like saying a homeless person doesn't have a housing problem. If your tax revenues are not sufficient to pay operating costs, then you have a budget problem whether its from rising costs and lowered revenues and/or both. CA's costs are rising for all the reasons I cited in my last post. And most of them are legitimate. Its a reality that certain elements within the state do not want to face.

By the way, I suspect the addiction to cheap labor will pit immigrant advocates against unions (Democrats), and small business interests against national security concerns (Republicans). The pot is being stirred ...

It has been for 20 years. That's the problem with CA......all they know how to do is stir the pot but nada ever gets done.....at least not completely.
