The same law enforcement agencies that try to convince the average citizen that they do not need to protect themselves, "That's what we are her for...", take the other position within the court system. The Supreme Court has repeatably upheld that the police are not responsible for protecting the individual. They are protecting 'the community' as a whole, not the individual pieces. When you call 911 in the middle of the night because someone is breaking through your kitchen door and they take an hour to respond, your family has no recourse. Ira
