I'm with Arnold... changed my position on this. I say we stop illegal immigration, and the impact it has on lower end pay scales in this country.

But I still think the better way to do it is to REALLY go after those that hire the illegals. Give them jail sentences.

I don't think that will help much. The majority of illegals in CA work for small private firms or private persons like you or I. They rarely stay in one job very long. Its also very common to see tons of illegals standing outside a Home Depot or a paint store looking for work. The only commonality with all these different groups is that they all have to cross the border. Its better to get them there.

As for Arnold, its taken a huge amount of courage to take the stand he is taking. If illegal immigration is really ended, it will stop decades of abuses in CA but it also will mean some pain for the CA economy which, in turn, will hurt the US.
