re: Transparency is in general a good thing but labeling the portion of your tax that goes to various types of spending is not as important as reducing the taxing and spending. If people want to know how much we spend on various things that information is in the budget, and in analysis and summaries can be found online. In any case the SS program is not highly transparent or well understood by most people. What a bunch of crap. You are exposing yourself as a Republican partisan. It's so obvious to anyone that reads your posts that you are not driven by philosophy but by partisan politics. Otherwise, you would support transparency. It's brain dead stupid simple democracy. Your argument is always that there is some ideal, but since it's not reached, then the compromise that is reached isn't relevant, because it's not perfect to your standards. Frankly, I'm sick of quibbling about minute details with you. When you can take the broader view, and start talking about real issues, then try posting to me again. John
