I have a general question that may be of interest to others also.

When I was with a broker that I called on the telephone I could designate verbally which lot of shares I wished to sell rather than being glued to the first in first out rule. And, there was no difference in what it cost to sell the given stock.

Now with the online broker I am with, I cannot designate on the computer screen which stock I wish to sell by lot or date---------the only way I can do this is to call the broker and tell them to sell the given stock, then my sales commission is increased from $10.00 to $24.95. (Obviously $15.00 cuts in to my profit-------and I don't want to cut into my profit.)

What I want to do is keep my long positions in tact in a stock that I am in and also trade that stock on a short term basis.

So, long way to here, question is--- is there an on line broker that has their system set up so that I can designate when I do the trade on line which lot I am selling by date----rather than calling the broker who then charges a higher commission for their help.
