Is rap very popular where you are?

It seems to be on the wane where I am, at least in our suburban school. Hip hop is popular, and the skateboarders bring in some interesting music, but since I've been back (this second semester) no one has mentioned rap, or rap musicians- and we talk about music a lot, in the context of scores for movies (for example, the techno score for Run Lola Run). I'm sure it's a completely different culture in the more urban schools. But then at our movie theatre tonight the young guy with the cowboy hate two rows in front of us didn't even take his hat off for the movie- so I think our town is just a little weird.

Have you seen Run Lola Run? It's an amazing movie- and if you compare it to Groundhog Day you can have some fun discussions.
