P.S. I see from their website that this test supposedly finds "immune-mediated food reactivity" whatever that is. They distinguish this from food intolerance, such as lactose intolerance, okay fine. At least I have my googling topic for the day.
In any event, we have all heard of allergic reactions to nuts and chocolate, but to a host of basic food staples...no I am not buying it.
My guess is that you will show a reaction on their test to everything you ate a lot of in the past week. So what? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Eat up.
<edit--wheat> celiac disease, which may occur in 0.5% of the population. This is an allergy to gluten, the protein found in wheat and other grains. Food allergy is found in fewer that 2% of the population although almost 20% claim to have food intolerances
Goodness, what did I do before google, ha!
I'll tell you what I have an allergy to--maple tree pollen. Happily, it is not a food staple <g>. |
