Thanks for pointing out the loyalty oath aspect of the document.

It's really quite appalling to realize that there isn't any essential distiction between the demands for loyalty to a whole series of crackpot platform planks in the Texas GOP manifesto and similar loyalty pledges demanded by notorious groups like the Nazis in Germany or the Bolsheviks in Russia. The urge toward totalitarianism and the religio-police state mentality of the documents is bizarre, aberrant from traditional American political rhetoric and hopefully can be countered by saner forces in society.
