So Jerry Seinfeld and his wife buy a brownstone in Manhattan and, yada yada... No Cash for You! Seinfeld Sued By Sarah Hall Fri Apr 29, 3:31 PM ET
So Jerry Seinfeld and his wife buy a brownstone in Manhattan and, yada yada yada, they're hit with a lawsuit.
Naturally, there's a little more to that story.
When Seinfeld and wife Jessica Sklar plunked down $4 million on their new domain, real estate broker Tamara Cohen claims to have had a hand in finessing the sale.
Cohen claims that after she helped the Seinfelds close the deal, they neglected to pay her company the $117,000 commission she believed she was owed.
As a result, the broker is suing the couple for the balance, according to court documents obtained by Celebrity Justice.
However, the funnyman and his spouse deny that Cohen acted as their broker in the sale, though they did offer to compensate her for her time, according to a statement released by their representative.
"Tamara Cohen did not fulfill the basic broker duties required by law," the rep stated. "However, the Seinfelds offered her a very generous fee for her time, but not for the sale, because she was not entitled to it. She declined the offer and now she's just trying to take advantage."
