Well, I am not sure how much I believe in signs, at least in the sense of those daily predictions in the newspaper that I think are totally stupid. However, when I got my horoscope done in a complete way many years ago, it definitely did sound like me.

So everyone in your family is earth and water except the Leo and Aquarius members. Do those two seem less compatible to you? It is of course complicated by the fact that people's sun signs are only a part of who they are, astrologically speaking. They could have quite a few planets in earth and water signs. Or they could be just completely different in every way from the rest of your family.
