No Brian's problem was that he thought if he tried to do a good job, and did what he thought was right that the Canadian people were smart enough to figure out that he was doing what was necessary. It is a terrible thing to over estimate the sheer stupidity of the average voter.... And then there is the venom of the extremely left wing press in Canada....
