Philip Deloria talks about his book Indians in Unexpected Places, published by University Press of Kansas. He describes how American Indians have been depicted in American newspapers, movies, and art throughout American history. Professor Deloria discusses how these depictions have changed over time, the reasons for that change, and the impact the change has had on Indians. The event was hosted by the American Indian Graduate Program at the University of California at Berkeley. After his presentation he responded to questions from members of the audience.
