This whole thing is a farce

It is a farce, and Tim's notion that it should be explicitly paid for with general funds would force folks to come to terms with that fact that we're taxing non-wage earners to pay for the retirements of wage-earners and raise a flag on the question of whether we really want to do that. It would be a pivotal moment, I think, because I don't think we can justify such a transfer system.
