It is not just parents who need to stop girls from steroid use. In the article I posted, some of the girls are getting these drugs from coaches! And of course there is the really convoluted and confusing message the larger society sends young people about using steroids. I personally think that the only solution is to permanently ban all athletes who test positive for steroids even one time, and to test all student athletes for steroid use starting in middle school. And conviction for selling steroids should be a major felony. Is it now? Something doesn't seem to be working very well. And of course teachers and parents should receive some training on what to look for in their children, so they can be more aware and catch steroid use earlier. And the dangers of steroids should be taught starting in early elementary school, in age appropriate ways.
