If you read what I put up on the Swiss system, you only have to buy the basic. I don't care if it's basic. It's wrong on principle. IMO, of course. The problem with "self insure" is when the person comes to up to the chalk and can't pay. Anyone who can't pay to have his broken finger set at the ER can't pay for insurance, either. Look, the problem is not so much those who can't pay but, as we discussed yesterday, those who won't pay. Those who won't pay we can either make pay or refuse services. That approach is more consistent with our culture.
