isn't spotlight the same kind of technology as the google desktop? Anybody know? Google desktop does indeed burn CPU cycles, but, it defines a new layer as far as file systems go afaic (content of your data instead of file names). The windows OS is an absolute disaster as far as trying to figure out where your files are, whats in them, or what.
